A group of sixty K-Staters spent an evening together in San Francisco on April 15, 2000. The event began with a catered reception of wine, cheese, sandwiches, shrimp cocktails etc hosted and sponsored by the office of Gensler Architecture.

The main event however, was the very entertaining Steve Silver Beach Blanket Babylon show at the Club Fugazi in North Beach. The K-State California Cats, festooned with purple buttons, had balcony, center seats. BBB's popularity is attested by being its twenty-six continuous years of production. It was a great event and it will be a challenge to match or top this event next year.

For K-State alumni, the evening gave an opportunity for K-Staters, who are not sports fans, the opportunity to meet other alumni at a non-sports event. I spoke to several alumni who are regular attendees of our football Watch Parties, and they were particularly delighted to meet a new group of alumni.
